Anti-cheat

Each check, in plain words. Students read the same rules before they start.
  • The test opens in full screen. Pressing Esc or leaving full screen pauses the student with a warning until they go back.

    ChromeEdgeFirefoxSafari on Mac
  • Students must share their whole screen, not one window or tab, so the proctor sees anything else that opens. The check page rejects a window or tab share. If they stop sharing, it counts as a warning.

    ChromeEdgeFirefoxNot on phones
  • The camera stays on and takes a photo at a fixed interval. Photos are kept for 30 days for review, then deleted. The proctor flags "face not visible" and "more than one person".

  • Switching to another tab, minimising, or clicking into another app is noticed the moment it happens, with the time.

  • Questions cannot be selected, copied out or printed, and nothing can be pasted in. Keyboard shortcuts such as Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+P and F12 are stopped where the browser allows it.

  • Chrome and Edge can tell when more than one screen is connected. Students with a second monitor are asked to unplug it before they start, and plugging one in during the test counts as a warning. Other browsers can't tell — the shared screen and camera still help.

    ChromeEdge
  • A student can be signed in to the test on only one device. Opening it on a second device closes the first — after the proctor allows re-entry.

  • Each event above is a violation. Students see a calm warning with the count; the last one submits the test with the answers so far.

  • Every attempt with a flag goes to a review queue with its photos, screen captures and a timeline. The proctor can clear the flags or hold the result.

A browser can't see a phone held below the desk, a person off camera, or a second laptop. The camera, a quiet exam room and the review queue cover what a browser can't.
