Hovarn Classic is a small office suite that runs in your browser: Files, Docs, Sheets, Slides, a PDF editor, a file viewer and maths input. Your work is saved to your Hovarns account, so it is there on any computer you sign in on.
What Classic does
Docs, sheets, slides, PDF, in the browser. Nothing to install.
Docs
Headings, lists, tables and equations. Import and export .docx; print to PDF.
Sheets
Formulas, number formats and several sheets. Import and export .xlsx and .csv.
Slides
Text, shapes, images and equations, with a presenter view. Import and export .pptx.
PDF
Annotate, fill forms, reorder, rotate and add pages, then download the new PDF.
Viewer
Open images, PDFs, spreadsheets, Word and PowerPoint files without leaving the page.
Saved to your account
Up to 200 MB per account. Files are checked by type and stored privately.
What to know before you start
The limits, said plainly.
- No real-time co-editing or sharing yet. Each file belongs to one account. Changes in another tab of the same browser are picked up; working together with other people is not available.
- Formatting can change on import and export. Office files are converted. Fonts, colours and some layout may not survive, especially in .pptx.
- The editors load code libraries from public CDNs (jsDelivr) the first time you open them, so you need an internet connection.
- 200 MB per account. When it is full, delete files or older versions to make room.
Your data
Hovarns stores your files, their names and when they changed. Nobody else can open them. You can export or delete everything from your Hovarns account.
