Licence & Agreements (draft)

Every agreement between you and Hovarns, on one page, in plain words first.

1. How these agreements fit together

In short

One page, every agreement. Each section starts with a plain summary; the numbered clauses are what counts.

  1. These agreements are between you and Registered company name (to be confirmed).
  2. The privacy notice and the terms of use for the Hovarns Account and tools are on their own pages: Privacy and Terms.
  3. We change an agreement only with notice. The version and date are shown at the top of this page.

2. Software licence

In short

Self-hosted copies of Horvarn Edu Coaching run under a signed licence tied to your domain.

  1. The licence names your centre, your domain and the modules you may use.
  2. It is signed with ECDSA P-256 using a release key kept offline. The app verifies it; real enforcement is on our servers.
  3. An unreachable licence server never locks the app. Only a signed revocation or real expiry of the licence does.

3. Updates

In short

Updates are signed. Anything unsigned or altered is refused.

  1. Each release has a signed manifest listing every file with its SHA-256.
  2. The app checks every file against the manifest before using it. An unsigned or invalid package is refused.
  3. Dated changes are published on the changelog.

4. Hosted service

In short

If we host your centre, this covers where it runs, backups and support.

  1. Hosting is on the Hovarns cloud, on a Hovarns subdomain or your own domain.
  2. Hosting region: Hosting region (to be confirmed). Backups: Backup policy (to be confirmed).
  3. Support hours: Support hours (to be confirmed). Support is by phone on +91 99437 08347.

5. Data processing

In short

Your centre owns its data. We process it only to run the service.

  1. We act as processor for the centre's student, parent and staff data.
  2. On exit, you get a full export and we delete our copy within Deletion window (to be confirmed).
  3. Grievance officer: Grievance officer (DPDP) (to be confirmed).

6. Hovarns Account

In short

Google-only sign-in for every Hovarns app, with an age step for under-18s.

  1. One account per person, keyed to your Google account. There are no Hovarns passwords.
  2. Under 18: a parent or guardian agrees on first sign-in.
  3. What the account stores is listed on the Trust page and in the privacy notice.

7. Acceptable use

In short

Do not use Hovarns software to harm people or break the law.

  1. No unlawful content, harassment, or attempts to get into other people's accounts.
  2. Exam proctoring is only for exams the candidate has agreed to.
  3. We may suspend use that puts other users at risk, and we tell you why.

8. Open-source notices

In short

We build on open-source software and say so.

  1. Full notices ship with each product.
  2. Question bank sources include open datasets and official previous-year papers, credited per question.
  3. Third-party services (Google sign-in, Jitsi Meet) have their own terms.
