One platform underneath every Hovarns app

Every Hovarns app signs in the same way, takes updates the same way, and reads from the same question bank.

How you reach your app

The only sign-in page is /account/. Google sign-in is being set up, so you cannot sign in yet.

Google only
You sign in with your Google account. Hovarns never asks for or stores a password.
An age step
The first sign-in asks whether you are 18 or older, or under 18 with a parent or guardian's consent (DPDP Act 2023).
What it keeps
Your Google ID, email, name, a copy of your profile photo no larger than 96 px, your age band, and the date and version of the terms you accepted.

Licences
Each installed app has a licence for its own website, signed by Hovarns.
Revocations
A suspended licence goes on a signed revocation list. The app locks at its next online check.
Signed updates
Updates come as a signed manifest; every file is checked against its SHA-256 before use.
Check-ins
Once per browser session the app asks for its status and checks in.

Release key · ES256: Kept on one computer that is never online. Signs licences and update manifests only.
Status key · ES256: On the server. Signs status answers and revocations only.

If our server is unreachable
The app keeps working on its signed licence and tells the admins.
When the app locks
Only for a signed revocation, or real expiry of the signed licence.
The honest limit
A centre that blocks our server can delay a revocation until its licence expires. For hosted centres, enforcement is on our servers.

Questions live only on the Hovarns server. Apps fetch what they need. Each question credits its source.
